Late in 2023, Taljar Polwarths jumped at the opportunity to enter the 2024 LambEx Feedlot Carcase Competition. A total of 1500 lambs across 16 different breeds from 30 producers across Australia were entered in the competition.

Groups of 50 lambs were placed under the same conditions and fed the same rations in the Thornby Feedlot in South Australia for 60 days before being processed.
Taljar supplied 50 wooly lambs within the required weight range of 35-38kg. Lambs were scored across several areas including performance in the feedlot, carcase, wool and MSA sheepmeat index.

Taljar came 12th overall; 7th in carcase; 11th in wool tests and 14th in intramuscular fat.
